Yes, that is intentional. Interaction would complicate things a lot,
besides it's questionable if one can cramp useful controls in a tiny
space. The only exception might be Harry's ArtyFx and even those are
kinda large :)
The proposed interface is as simple as it can be, portable and
compatible: Pretty much every toolkit can produce (plugin) or display
(host) ARGB pixmaps. Also handling them manually isn't exactly rocket
science either.

yep and gate open/closed indicators or a synth displaying the waveform
shape,...

I initially intended this to be a minimal example, but overshot that
goal a bit :)
One thing that remains to be done is to standardize the URIs and add
.ttl documentation.
